Nov 7 The Autumn and Winter Bohemian

I'm lucky to live in a region where I get to see and experience each season. Okay, I could do without winter and all that comes with it (driving in snow & ice, scrapping off said off ice & snow off your car, slipping and sliding to get in, feeling frigid cold and waking up to darkness, working in darkness and going home to - you guessed it - darkness). I try to stay always evolving and that includes my personal style too. It's fun to lay out an aesthetic and plan (or rather, shop) accordingly. I think it comes from my love of collages and mood boards - I love setting up an aesthetic goal and working toward that.

Fall 2017 I really wanted to incorporate more Bohemian pieces. My muses = Karen with her effortlessly cool, sunny California boho chic style on Californication and Kate Hudson as the wild, beautiful, tortured but oh so stylish Penny Lane in Almost Famous.

It's easy to find pretty, boho pieces especially when the weather is still warm. But what happens when it gets harder to pull off that California boho look because well, you live in Connecticut and you are freezing? I picked some of my favorite Autumn-Winter boho looks. The key is layering. Every piece is something you can layer over or under.

I LOVE Venus! I have some of the best office dresses from Venus that are comfortable, appropriate with the right twist of sexy and cute so it's not super boring to wear. I really adore this oatmeal sweater dress. Perfect for the holidays! With some black leggings and a scarf you have a simple, sexy Boho look fit for colder weather.

Winter bohemian romance! I love this top with the balloon sleeves. Perfect to layer gorgeous beaded necklaces.

Free People Te Amo Black Embroidered Babydoll Mini Dress has a babydoll silhouette and long bell sleeves. Layer it with a cute vest and leggings and you have a warm, bohemian look.

LuLu's Tanis Beige Print Skater Dress is a perfect layering dress. I imagine a black fitted blazer, a layering scarf, black leggings and some cute booties. It's a flirty, glittery dress that is perfect for the holidays and parties.
