I first started blogging as an outlet to express my love of fashion and design as well as document my life living post-Katrina Biloxi, Mississippi as a native New Englander. I wanted to capture every rickety po boy stand, every jazz bar full of stories and soul, every golden melted pastel sunset, every waffle house brimming with coffee and conversation. I also wanted a place to put all my favorite fashion looks, aesthetics and ideas in one place and merge them together with my writings. When I moved back home I decided it was a love I had to pursue with more energy and intensity. Thus was the foundation for the first incantation of my blog, Yankee Belle. Over time it has bended, blended, twisted and transformed and grown with me. I began building an Instagram account (@avintageblonde) and connecting with like-minded women and local Connecticut bloggers. I began to hone in on my mission with this sweet space I call my blog.
I want this to be a place of both Old Hollywood glamour, fashion dipped in retro loveliness and heartfelt stories of my life. I want to blend the glamour of yesteryear with real life stories, local gems and modern influences.
