Thrifty Blonde Series: Darling Danbury Restore
Newest on my thrift store series is ReStore - a thrift warehouse for Habitat for Humanity. Their main store is located at 51 Austin Street in Danbury, CT but for this adventure I drove up to their satellite shop at the Danbury Fair Mall. Tucked discreetly between the Apple store and Lulemon is a treasure trove boutique with a heartfelt mission.
The money they raise at the ReStore go directly to fund the building of affordable homes in the community and provide free basic home repairs to elderly and veterans who are living on fixed incomes. Some of the items you will find are furniture, home décor, lighting, kitchen cabinets, windows, doors, tools and appliances.
The store is such a hidden gem amongst well-known retailer giants. Restore has affordable prices, gorgeous home decor and stunning vintage clothing. I came at the tail end of Art week which boasted some breathtaking work - many featuring local artists like Mary Chandler.
Here’s some of my favorite items and a vanity bench I took home & decorated (last photo).
