For the love of Vintage Purses

There’s an undeniable charm and magic of vintage clothing and I find purses of yesteryear to be the most intriguing of them all. A couple winters ago, my friend Sarah and I stopped at an Antique shop to browse. Sarah found a darling 50’s purse and the owner told us the story of the owner- how the lady was downsizing but she use to go to the best spots in Morris Cove (a seaside section in New Haven, CT) with her sister and get all dressed up and take out their fanciest purses and go to the hot spots of the day to meet potential suitors. There’s so many untold stories and mysteries behind a vintage piece. I found this large embroidered purse at Back on the Rack, an upscale consignment boutique. I’ve seen them run smaller, but I loved how I could use this for every day living and have a piece of vintage history full of secrets and mysteries with me.
