"Come in out of the darkness"

Ringing in 2023

Ringing in 2023

Between grief and joy there’s so many ordinary moments. Moments at work, moments cleaning or doing just plain old ordinary things. The days are so slow but the years go fast.

I’m reminded to take joy in my morning coffee, walks with Everly on foggy autumn days with leaves falling all around us. The pastel cotton candy skies and smell of cherry blossoms in Springtime. That sweet spot right before summer, the promise of sunshine and windchime melodies. The fireflies and sunflowers in August that make my eyes crinkle with joy. The song you needed to hear on the radio coming on right when you switch the station.

There was losing my grandmother at the beginning of the year. Stepping into hospice with its ocean views and all the bittersweet reminds of how ephemeral this journey we call life is.

There was the restorative elixir of vacationing with my friend Kate, seeing the most soothing yet intense sunsets walking along the beach or from our hotel balcony.

And all the ordinary moments before and after that made up this year and the quiet grace that gets you through the harder days.

Here’s to 2022 and all the ordinary joys, the laughter, the sunsets, gentle yoga, puppy snuggles, family, friends, adventuring and antiquing and all the sweet things that get us through.

And here’s to 2023, for health, wealth, happiness and joy even in the ordinary moments and grace when we most need it.

I wanted to take the time to set intentions & to manifest all that I’m looking for in this year and years to come. I created a moodboard:
