Sep 15 Vintage in Vogue

I love Cape Cod. To me it’s a sweet, artistic and poetic nod and a perfect personification of New England seaside charm. I love finding hidden treasures of boutiques full of heirlooms and vintage treasures. I headed to Provincetown for the first time and loved how open, airy and vibrant it was. Right in a cozy nook of Whaler’s Wharf I saw a glamorous sign of Lana Turner with the words Vintage in Vogue. I peeked in the display window and was not disappointed. It was closed for the day but I made it my mission to come back the next day.

I came back with glitter in my eyes and an unstoppable march to source some fabulous vintage pieces. (although I have put myself on a much-needed spending leash.) I love finding vintage accessories – purses, clip on earrings, belts, scarves and brooches than can add retro flair to even a modern outfit.

When it comes to clothing, I look for everyday wearability. Could I wear this to the office? Could I wear this to lunch or a nice dinner? I love wiggle dresses and shift dresses that aren’t too baggy.

I found a beautiful mustard 60’s dress that complimented my figure (I usually can size dresses from the hangers with my eyes and not try them on – vintage is a whole other ballgame. Absolutely try everything on. I also found two vintage purses which are perfect for summer (or vacation) and clip on earrings that have a heavy resemblance to the mid 80’s supermodel aesthetic.

Vintage in Vogue has two locations – both in the quaint towns of Provincetown and Orleans, Massachusetts. In these shops you’ll find clothing from 1875-1970’s. There’s also a beautiful bridal section at each location full of gowns, veils and accessories.

I loved how cultivated and curated the shop was and was amazed by the quality and vibrancy of each item. There really was a great selection of different sizes and eras for you to pick from.
