My Favorite CT Boutiques: Vintage & Modern

My Favorite CT Boutiques: Vintage & Modern

stores.jpg

Connecticut has so many amazing boutiques serving up the softest sweaters, the latest antique pearl hairclips, berets, handmade jewelry and retro dresses that would make Betty Draper swoon. I wanted to curate a collection of my favorite boutiques - vintage & modern. Places + Spaces that not only sell beautiful things but truly authentic and lovely.

VINTAGE

Vintanthromodern

895 Whalley Ave, New Haven, CT 06515

I’m writing a separate blog post about my love for this special place - so be on the look out! Located right in the artistic heart of Westville, Vintanthromodern serves up vintage style and local New Haven art. It’s a beautiful space that’s incredibly well curated. Whether it’s local handmade goods you are looking for or a vintage 70’s dress that inspires your inner Stevie Nicks, this is the place to go. It’s bright, clean and airy and everyone who works there is absolutely lovely!

Fashionista Vintage & Variety

93 Whitney Ave, New Haven, CT 06510

Fashionista is a playful store known for it’s “thrift couture”. If you are looking for inspiration, this is the place to go. Full of bold, kooky and pretty retro rarities and lovelies.

Coco’s on the Green

235 Montowese St, Branford, CT 06405

I wasn’t quite sure where to put Coco’s in terms of a category - they are an upscale consignment shop and so many of their beautiful pieces I feel are perfect for my vintage inspired aesthetic. I always find vintage inspired beauties - a dress that be perfect for Betty Draper or 1940’s inspired Kate Spade dress that made me feel like Alice in Wonderland.

MODERN

Taken for Granite

409 Leetes Island Rd, Branford CT 06405

Perfectly nestled in Stony Creek’s entrance is a store full of dreamy magic. Taken for Granite has that chic rustic look that may seem like you are wandering around part antique store, part upscale fashion boutique. They perfectly blend a surreal, vintage feel with colorful, unique designs. I adore how they re-imagine their space for each season, beckoning customers with their whimsy and gorgeous fashion and decor. I have found delicate pendants, home decor, hand-woven baskets and dresses meant for vacationing on the Cape. This modern store is all dreamy and seaside and absolutely worth the visit.

Grace

49 Pennsylvania Ave Niantic, CT

Grace is a shoreside bungalow tucked in the sandy heart of seaside Niantic. Grace offers up modern styles, branded gear, gifts and accessories in a creative, imagined and playful way. It’s cozy beach vibes fit perfectly for their style and ambiance. It’s classy but casual, fun but also sophisticated. It’s elegance without the pretense. It’s fashion but it’s also beach-y, summer sweetness.

Ciao Bella

698 Boston Post Rd, Madison, Connecticut

Ciao Bella is the cutest little shop right in lovely and oh so charming downtown Madison. It offers the latest fashion and accessories and always has a touch of coastal hometown flavor. I especially love their Madison branded accessories, their handbags meant for the beach and their summer dresses.
