An Important Cause
Every year I try to do a fundraiser for a good cause. I know a lot of us have a tight budget and I understand. I always think about my dad on my birthday and what it would be like if he was here celebrating with me.
You may or may not know but my father passed away quite suddenly two weeks after being diagnosed with a very acute type of leukemia, just months after he turned 40.
Grief changes over time - it’s not linear. It can be strong waves or a gentle breeze of a reminder. The truth is, I was 11 when he passed away and I’ve missed him longer than he was in my life in the physical form.
I know his spirit lives on. A beautiful day at Mansfield grove, a REM song on the radio, anytime I tie up my running shoes I’m reminded of him. Part of grief at some point comes acceptance and turning that pain into something positive. So here’s to this amazing foundation. I want more people to survive and thrive. Leukemia & Lymphoma have come along way. I hope it continues to.
Whether you donate a dollar or more, share this link or blog post - it means the world to me:
