Retro Parisian Style with Serenity Boutique
I was elated when Trudy, the sweet and lovely owner of Serenity Boutique gifted me with an item of my choosing from her shop - Serenity Boutique. As much as I’d love to turn blogging into a full time career, I’ve swept that into the “pipe dream” category and I’m okay with it. I love what I do professionally and blogging is a great creative outlet and a fun way to meet new friends, learn about new products, places and spaces and be inspired by! I always feel so grateful when I do receive beautiful pieces. I always make it my mission to show how versatile their product (whether it’s a necklace or dress) is and how you can create your own cool, vintage-inspired look with the pieces at your hometown boutique or an online store a click away.
It’s so easy to create a retro inspired look with basic and very affordable accessories and a dress with a timeless silhouette. I chose their black wrap plaid skirt dress. School girl chic! I’ve been loving the “Swingin Sixties” and this reminded me of something Jean Shrimpton would wear. It really is a classic style so I didn’t have to do much to make it look retro. I paired it with black kitten heels, a black beret with pearls that used to be sold at Unique Vintage (I found a plethora of copycats online though- read to shop this look!), and a pocketbook I thrifted this summer.
